Anxiety, depression, insomnia, negative thinking and more all hide a mountain of energy inside you.
Remember the nervous system framework Iāve explained in this emails over and over again?
The basic idea is this:
In life, shit happens š©
That shit produces a stress response in our nervous system due to a sense of being āunsafeā (aka. in danger) which is due to us perceiving threats in the environment š°
These threats can be obvious, such as a screaming parent, an aggressive dog or WiFi that drops out right in the middle of the Game of Thrones finaleā¦
ā¦and they can also be hidden and surprising, such as a parent or caregiver who was physically present in your childhood but emotionally absent (due to alcohol, drugs or simply a lack of regulation in their own nervous system).
Yes, the human nervous system often perceives even subtle things like an emotionally-absent (or manipulative) parent as a life-threatening problem.
The perception of threats triggers the stress response, which includes a cascade of hormones and chemicals such as adrenaline, cortisol and more.
These chemicals are the fuel of the fight-or-flight response.
They are intended to be time-limited. That means that they release and you either neutralise the threat (by attacking it or running away).
Either way, the goal is the same:
Eliminate threats so the nervous system can return to a sense of being safe (due to no perceived threats in oneās environment) š
The problem isā¦
In our modern society, this stress response often gets stopped before it gets completed.
That means the nervous system puts its foot down on the accelerator (to help you fight or run away) but at the same time, it also slams on the brakes (because itās not safe to fight or run away when youāre 3 years old).
And that means we have a nervous system that both tries to accelerate and slow down at the same time (imagine what this would do to a car šļø š¤Æ).
Thatās what anxiety is (and all its associated symptoms):
The nervous system stuck in fight-or-flight AND usually some freeze, preventing the discharge and completion of the stress response.
Accelerator ON, brake ON.
The nervous system is all revved up, ready to run away or fight at the drop of the hat, and it never comes out of that mode.
Depression is similar, except instead of it being fight-or-flight dominant, itās freeze dominant.
That means instead of being stuck in fight-or-flight, youāre stuck more in freeze.
Thatās why depression feels like, well⦠nothing. Youāre numb. Shut down. Frozen. Stuck. Thereās no feeling and no emotion so you donāt feel alive. You don’t feel love. Whatās the point of going on? Etc etc.
Hereās the good news though:
Underneath or behind anxiety, depression and a whole host of other mental, emotional and physical health problems is a mountain of energy, goodness and pristine life-force š„š„š„š„š„š„
Think about it.

If youāve got anxiety or depression or insomnia or something else related to these things (hell, even digestive problems), it usually means some % of your energy is caught up it. Some % of your energy is stuck trying to drive a fight-flight-freeze response.
That means if you can get to the root and āunstickā your fight-flight-freeze response, the energy thatās currently caught up in it will be freed up.
To put it another way, letās imagine you have 100 units of energy to spend at any one time in your life.
Now letās imagine that 75 units of energy are currently caught up in all your unresolved, incomplete fight-flight-freeze responses.
Thatās means youāre living your life with only a quarter tank of fuel to draw on š¤Æ
You can eat like a champion, use all the sleep hacks you can find and even master the science of habits and goal-setting but if youāre still running on only 25% of your max capacity, youāll always feel like youāre only barely living your life. Never making the most of your potential. Never truly healthy, happy and whole šš¤
Of course, right?
How can you be “whole” if you’ve only got access to 25% of your energy or true potential?
If youāve ever wondered where your motivation, drive and lust for life has gone, look to your nervous system.
If youāve ever wondered where all the joy is, all the happiness, all the beauty and passion and purpose, look to your incomplete stress responses.
If youāve ever wondered āwhatās the point?ā or āwhy bother continue living?ā, look to the dysregulation in your nervous system.
Thatās where youāll find the answers youāve been looking for your whole life⦠as well as the mind-blowing mountain of energy that is your BIRTHRIGHT.
As for Rageheartā¦
Itās nothing less than a step-by-step system for reclaiming the mountain of energy inside you – by resolving all the incomplete and unresolved stress responses that are also inside you š„³
