Ever Had A Fever For 1 Year Straight?

Ever had a fever for 1 year straight?

Late last year, Adyashatmypants and I got hit with Covid-19.

Fever, body aches, insomnia, brain fog and more.

It sucked 😢

However, we were back to normal in 1-2 weeks 🥳

Thanks to the inflammation triggered by Covid-19, our bodies healed themselves in a relatively short period of time 🎉

That’s the thing with inflammation:

It’s a natural part of the body’s defence to injury or infection.

But if inflammation continues for too long, it damages the body.

Think about it.

When I had Covid-19 last year, I had a fever.

That fever was part of my body’s way of burning the virus alive (DIE VIRUS DIEEEEEEEEE 💀).

In other words…

The body heats up until the virus can no longer survive.

Problem solved.

But imagine…

What would’ve happened if the fever continued for a month? 🤔

3 months?

1 year?

Instead of short-term inflammation, we’d be dealing with long-term inflammation.

Is it healthy for the body to be at an elevated temperature all the time?

Is it good for the organs and skin and heart and blood?

Hell no 🙅‍♂️

That’s why long-term, chronic inflammation is associated with a variety of diseases and health problems, including:

  • Autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis
  • Cardiovascular diseases like high blood pressure and heart disease
  • Gastrointestinal disorders like inflammatory bowel disease
  • Lung diseases like asthma
  • Mental illnesses like depression
  • Metabolic diseases like Type 2 diabetes
  • Neurodegenerative diseases like Parkinson’s disease
  • Some types of cancer, like colon cancer

Here’s where it gets interesting (and how it relates to Rageheart)…

Inflammation is part of the sympathetic response in the nervous system 🧬

If you’ve been following along with my Daily Growls (these emails), you’ll know that the sympathetic response is the automatic nervous system response to threats and danger.

In other words…

If you’re chronically stressed due to your current lifestyle and past traumas, you’re spending most of your time in sympathetic activation.

And if you’re always in sympathetic activation, your body will always be in some amount of inflammation.

Let it continue long enough and you may end up with symptoms of chronic inflammation:

  • Body pain, arthralgia, myalgia
  • Chronic fatigue and insomnia
  • Depression, anxiety and mood disorders
  • Gastrointestinal complications like constipation, diarrhea, and acid reflux
  • Weight gain or weight loss
  • Frequent infections

Let those symptoms continue long enough and you may end up with the diseases mentioned earlier.

That’s where The Rageheart Academy comes in.

Over the course of 60 audio lessons, you learn how to gently ease your system out of sympathetic (ie. inflammatory) activation and into parasympathetic rest-and-digest.

This often leads to a decrease in inflammation and in all the symptoms and problems I’ve mentioned above.

Interesting, right?

Working with your nervous system isn’t just a way to clear your mind of negative thoughts. You’re body improves along the way too 🤯

Why?

Because it’s all connected.

Body and mind aren’t 2 separate entities.

You’re not a mind that controls a body.

You are one unit.

Change the mind, change the body.

Change the body, change the mind.

But that’s a topic for another time 🤷‍♂️
