I used to be like that.
I procrastinated like it was going out of style, frittering away hours each day on Facebook and Instagram instead of working on projects that were meaningful to me.
I constantly wrestled with imposter syndrome and self-doubt. Even though I tried to believe I was fine, I couldn’t shake the feeling that something was wrong with me. That I was somehow broken.
My energy and motivation went up and down like a yo-yo. Some days I’d be great but a week later? I’d lose interest in whatever I was working on. Understandably, this made it incredibly difficult to get important projects done.
My sleep was ok but I still smashed 2 or sometimes 3 double shots of black coffee a day to keep me going.
And most frustratingly, I didn’t know how to feel or follow my gut. Instead, I figured things out mentally. If I had a decision to make, I’d think it through. If I had a problem to solve, I’d journal about it. If I couldn’t figure it out on my own, I’d talk to a friend.
Lots and lots of thinking… very little feeling.
I couldn’t feel what my body was saying to me… and this got me into a lot of trouble at different times.
As a result, I missed so. many. opportunities! 😰
Opportunities to grow my business.
Opportunities to travel.
Opportunities to meet interesting people and make new friends (or romantic partners).
Opportunities to live the life I actually wanted.
Opportunities to be happy and fulfilled.
The question is…
