Kano the canine life coach

John Wood, Founder of Rageheart

by John Wood

I walked into the bathroom the other morning to the most shocking sight:

Zeus and Storm (our two kittens) sitting obediently at 2 school desks along with Kano (our friendā€™s dog) at a blackboard šŸ‘Øā€šŸ«šŸ¶

Zeus and Storm after their life coaching session with Kano

Kano, a fluffy cream-coloured dog with legs too short for his body, wore a pair of dark-rimmed Librarianā€™s glasses while the kittens both wore white button up shirts with Kanoā€™s logo on the front pocket.

What in the worldā€¦

When I opened the door, no one said anything and no one moved.

Kano just looked at me with an expression on his face that reminded me of Ms Knowles from High School – severe, impatient and even offended.

How dare I interrupt his life coaching session with Zeus and Stormā€¦

Zeus and Storm on the other hand looked relieved.

Finally! Now we donā€™t have to look at the blackboard šŸ„³šŸ„³

Then Kano started to growlā€¦ so I tip toed backwards out of the room and shut the door quietly.

Whew! That was close šŸ„µ

As I slipped away to make my breakfast (5 fried eggs, half an avocado, a tablespoon of Extra Virgin Olive Oil and mountain of salt from a salt mine here in Peru), I couldnā€™t help but wonder:

Did Kano really know how to coach someone, let alone 2 fluffy little kittens heā€™d tried to gobble up the day before?

It all seemed a bit ridiculous to meā€¦ but thatā€™s life coaching for you šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

Donā€™t get me wrong –

Iā€™m not saying that all life coaching is worse than burnt toastā€¦ or that all life coaches are cute fluffy dogs.

Iā€™m just saying that unless a coach helps you get into the body, feeling all the icky-sticky stuff in the nervous system, itā€™s all pretty surface-level if you ask me.

Maybe you learn a few tricks (like Zeus and Storm did with Kano) but will it give you the tools to finally clear deep-set issues in your system?

I think not.

The reason why is because most issues aren’t mental issues. They’re not cognitive problems. The mental aspect is just a reflection or manifestation of what’s happening in the body. Leaves on a tree in other words.

Thatā€™s where Rageheart comes in.

Rageheart is a crash-course in how to work directly with your nervous system, fight-or-flight response and your body – the hidden root of a racing mind, trouble sleeping, imposter syndrome and more šŸ¤˜

Solve things at the level of the nervous system and the manifestation in the mind usually dissolves on its own.

But donā€™t take my word for itā€¦

AdiĆ³s,

P.S. Psychedelics like Ayahuasca, Magic Mushrooms, Huachuma and Iboga are also fantastic tools for getting out of the mind and into the bodyā€¦ but thatā€™s a story for another time.

They also tend to be far more intense than something like Rageheartā€¦ so before you sign up for a retreat or ceremony, consider signing up to Rageheart now and build a solid foundation of embodiment and connection to feeling so you lower the chances of overwhelm and the dreaded “freak out”.
