How to stop getting manipulated by assholes

I talk a lot about unleashing the beast here at Rageheart but it’s not what you might first think.

I don’t mean “beast” as in lots of money, muscles or Maseratis 🏎️

I mean “beast” in the sense that you’re completely in touch with your animal self.

The mind is a wonderful thing.

It gave us skyscrapers, cruise ships, Guns n’ Roses, comedians like Ricky Gervais and the Wheel of Time fantasy series.

But when that’s all we are – when we’re only really aware of ourselves as a mind or thoughts – we miss out on a hell of a lot of what life is (and we make ourselves vulnerable to all kinds of weird shit).

For example, a few years back, I had a couple of “friends” in Thailand that gave me a funny feeling 🤢

I say “friends” because we used to get lunch together, spend time at their house and play hide n’ seek with their 3 kids.

Nonetheless, that funny feeling remained.

I couldn’t put my finger on it but it was there.

Just a subtle feeling that whispered to me that something was off with these 2 friends.

I ignored it.

A few months later, I paid these 2 friends $3k for a life coaching arrangement.

The result?

They turned out to be some of the most manipulative and abusive people I’ve ever met 🤬

Somehow I knew it… long before I hired them.

Not in my mind.

I couldn’t put words to it… but my body knew.

That was the source of the “funny feeling”.

I ignored it and it cost me.

It cost me a 4 year romantic relationship with the love of my life (I was starting to think about marriage and kids…) as well as 1-2 years to pick up the pieces and sort myself out afterwards 😰

All because I ignored what my body was telling me.

That was before I discovered the world of nervous system healing. The world of rewilding the nervous system. The world of unleashing the beast inside us.

Now that I’m more in tune with my body and instincts (the beast), I don’t fall for that shit anymore 💪

I’ve since met similar people and when that funny feeling pops its head up, I pay attention.

It sounds simple – just pay attention to your gut instincts – and yet in many ways it’s absolutely not simple.

Maybe you can feel your gut impulses and instincts as clear as day… but if not, you have some work to do (unless you’re happy getting manipulated and controlled by the people around you?) 🤔

The key is to learn how to get out of your head and into your body. Out of thinking and into feeling. Because that’s when those gut impulses and beastly instincts become as clear as day.

Here’s how to do that:
