Don’t Be An 🧊 Cube

John Wood, Founder of Rageheart

by John Wood

If you were an ice cube, what shape would you be?

Square?

Oblong?

Round?

Would you be an itty bitty ice cube?

Or one of those giant ice blocks the size of a small dog?

If I could be any ice cube, I’d be one of those ice cubes that gets carved and sculpted into a beautiful castle.

I’d have turrets and towers and archways.

It would be something out of a movie…

At least, I’d hope so πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

Except there’s one problem:

I’m a fucking ice cube πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ

Kinda hard to live your life as an ice cube.

If I’m made of ice, there’s no way I’ll be riding my motorbike, hiking or snowboarding.

Hell…

If I fall over, I’ll shatter into a million pieces.

Here’s the thing though:

This is what life is like for someone who is stuck in the freeze response of their nervous system.

They’re not literally made of ice… but they might as well be.

Just like with ice, you’ll have a lot of rigidity and tension.

You might feel numb.

Armoured.

Stiff.

As a result, there probably won’t be much motivation.

Because hey…

When it comes to motivation, ice isn’t really a good example of motivation.

It literally just sits there.

Even if it’s gorgeous…

It just sits there.

So yeah.

If you’re in freeze, motivation will be hard to come by.

That means procrastination and self-sabotage will be a big thing.

It’ll be hard to find the energy to do whatever it is you want to do… whether that’s building a business, finding (or leaving) a relationship, eating right and more.

You might feel depressed.

Not happy… but also not unhappy either.

Just…

Empty.

Bored.

Apathetic about life.

What’s the point, right?

Is this it?

I know because I’ve been there.

That was me 3 years ago.

And that was after 10 years of meditation, countless gratitude lists, hundreds of thousands of words in my journal, life coaches and therapists, breathwork and who knows how many self-help books.

So uh…

Something obviously wasn’t working πŸ˜‰

Then I heard about this whole nervous system thing.

Fight, flight and freeze.

Most importantly, I found out how to get out of these states and restore safety, balance and regulation to the entire system.

Did it work?

Hell yes.

I feel like a different person these days.

Happier.

Stronger.

More resilient.

Where before I felt empty and kind of “dead” inside…

…now I feel alive, full of vitality with a deep sense of purpose.

That’s why I started Rageheart.

Because this nervous system shit completely changed my life.

At the most basic level, it brought me home to myself.

Helped me to remember who I was.

That’s why I’m so passionate about it…

…and like I said, that’s why I started Rageheart.

To help other people find the same healing I found.

If that sounds interesting to you, come join me inside Rageheart:

https://www.rageheart.co/app/

You’ll get a step-by-step system for working directly with your nervous system.

Rageheart is currently closed to new members… but I’ll be opening it up in a couple of weeks.

In the meantime, keep reading with the Daily Rage to hear more about it (and learn more about the nervous system).

Cheers,

John Wood

P.S. Getting stuck in fight, flight or freeze is bad… but it’s not THAT bad.

The worst is getting stuck in BOTH at the same time.

That’s tomorrow.

Until then…
